Robert Pattinson spent most of his time on the “furious” ‘Twilight’ set.
The 35-year-old actor played vampire Edward Cullen opposite Kristen Stewart’s human Bella Swan in the ‘Twilight Saga’ film franchise, but admitted he didn’t agree at all with the way whose studio wanted to portray his character.
He said GQ.com“I wanted it to be as arty as possible. We had this weird tension where the studio was afraid of doing things that were a little too emo and all that. I thought that was the only way to play it. I spent so much time [on set] pissed… I can’t believe the way I acted half the time.
And Robert revealed his managers even warned him he was at risk of being fired.
He said they told him after a set visit, “You’ll be fired by the end of the day if you don’t stop doing what you’re doing.”
He also admitted to being on valium during his audition, explaining, “I had started to develop this utter dread of auditions, which I’m sure a lot of actors have. I could be so enthusiastic about something and then on the day of the audition my confidence would completely crash. The same thing happened the morning of the ‘Twilight’ audition.
“I had never taken Valium before. I just remember feeling so glorious in the back of the cab with the window open and just going, ‘Wow, that’s what I was missing.’ I think I had this kind of spacey, detached kind of thing in the audition, which must have worked for the character.”
