Queen Elizabeth II is a chocolate addict.
The 95-year-old monarch is a big fan of chocolate mousse, her former chef Darren McGrady told The Sun: “I used to make chocolate and coffee mousse – dark chocolate mousse – and I added real espresso coffee to intensify the flavor.
“It was a bit on the Palace menu.”
The 60-year-old chef – who started working at Balmoral peeling carrots for the horses – believes Gordon Ramsey could never cook for the Royal Family “because of his ego”.
Others have pointed out that Her Majesty ‘loves chocolate’, such as ‘MasterChef: The Professionals’ judge Monica Galetti, who judged a competition to find a pudding to serve at the Big Jubilee Lunch, which will mark 70 years of HRH . reign.
She said: ‘From what I’ve heard about Her Majesty she doesn’t like things that are too complicated. She likes the traditional, but apparently she has a fondness for chocolate and berries, especially seasonal fruits.
“There’s a bit of leeway to maybe mix the two together and then see how they can liven it up. “There’s nothing wrong with taking a traditional pudding and bringing your own personality to it, but don’t make it too crazy.”
However, the Queen doesn’t just care about treats as Darren – who has fed Princess Diana, Prince Harry and other royals – has previously shared how ‘tickled’ he was to help recreate fast food favorites with what they brought home from the hunt.
He said: “It always tickled me at Balmoral, we made our own burgers. They slaughtered deer and we made venison burgers. It had beautiful cranberries and all the stuff in it, but we didn’t cook never rolls.” The only thing you would pick up and eat with your fingers is afternoon tea.”
