Photo shoot gone wrong, model attacked by leopard in Germany

A 36-year-old model’s photoshoot went awry after she was attacked by a leopard at a nursing home in Germany. The woman was seriously injured and was taken to hospital after the incident.

Identified as Jessica Leidolph by local reports, the woman, who describes herself as an animal lover and photo model, suffered serious head injuries while filming in the enclosure of the two leopards Troy and Paris, reported the BBC. It is not known who organized the shoot and why the model was photographed, the report said.

An investigation is currently underway at the Nebra animal home in Saxony-Anhalt state to understand what exactly happened, the report added. In addition, the claims of the leopards fleeing their enclosure were refuted by the authorities in Burgenland, who also confirmed that there was no danger to the entire population.

According to an ABC report, the sanctuary is home to the two leopards, aged 16 and 18, among other animals. The owner, a 48-year-old manager, is under investigation for “suspicion of negligent bodily harm,” the news site added.

The compound was also inspected by a public health official to verify the health of the animals and whether or not the facility met regulatory standards, the report adds.
