Hey you! Netflix has confirmed that You season 3 ended filming in April 2021 and will be shown on our screens in the last quarter of 2021. See you soon neighbor…
If you are a fan of the hit series You, then you’ve been waiting too long for the release of Season 3. Don’t worry anymore because Joe Goldberg will be on our screens for the last three months of this year. Soon we’ll be back to crush Joe while being scared of his toxic behavior. We love to hate him but love to love him even more. At the end of the day he keeps us entertained, on our toes, and as we know, entertainment wins, always!
Here’s what you can expect in You season 3!
New cast members
In November of last year, You the fans were struck by the exciting news! The announcement of new cast members for Season 3. The main cast remains the same (thank goodness!), But there are 13 new names and faces we’ll get to see this season. Here is the list of actors:
- Penn Badgely: Joe
- Victoria Pedretti: Love
- Scott Speedman: Matthew
- Travis Van Winkle: Cary
- Shalita Grant: Sherry
- Safran Burrows: Dottie
- Dylan Arnold: Theo
- Tati Gabrielle: Marienne
- Michaela McManus: Nathalie
- Shannon Chan-Kent: Kiki
- Ben Mehl: Dante
- Chris O’Shea: Andrew
- Christopher Sean: Brandon

- Jack Fisher: young Joe Goldberg
- Mauricio Lara: friend of young Joe
In 2020, we got the confirmation we were all waiting for; than our two favorites cast members season 2 will return: Badgley will return as Joe and Victoria Pedretti as Love. Love’s presence in Joe’s life was almost certain given the end of Season 2, with the couple in a beautiful but twisted union. Ideally, we’ll also see more of the expanded cast of Quinn Family Members and Friends from Season 2.
We will also have a new face, Scott Speedman (Animal Kingdom, Underworld.). Speedman will play Matthew, a successful CEO, distant father and husband. It is sometimes strange and tends to be withdrawn; all this veils a deeper emotion. Speedman joins the other new cast members: Travis Van Winkle and Shalita Grant. Grant plays Sherry, a nasty young woman who feels undermined and threatened by Love, who claims to be a friendly “Momfluencer.”
Van Winkle will be Cary, an easy-going and enchanting “self-optimization expert”. With Cary and Matthew around the corner, Joe has a lot more competition in the qualifying licensing department. Much to the excitement of You Fans!

The plot thickens …
Season 2 of You dramatically stepped up the melodrama, stepping away from the books a bit with a shocking character reveal. When Love is forced to confront Joe’s true nature by his first victim, Candace, she takes the news in a way that very few people saw coming, stabbing Candace in the throat. It was a mind-blowing moment, finding out that Love is as fanatic and murder-prone as Joe is. Even though they are the same, Joe denies love. This explores the theme of the archetypal man and woman and the oppression of women. How Love is judged harsher than Joe for essentially doing the same thing. Love returns to season 3 somewhat changed, still a predator, but of a different kind. Without forgetting that she is pregnant joe’s child, just another key in the works!
Caroline Kepnes, the author of the books on which the Netflix show is based, said that Season 3 would have similarities to the book. One of them being that Joe will be living in a place similar to the one in the book. Of course, along with the big reveal of season 2 where we see Love as a killer, introduced a few differences that aren’t on the books. However, the most important takeaway for Season 3 is that Joe is still Joe from Season 1, and that could be a good thing or a bad thing.
While the cast and producers were able to keep a lid on spoilers that could reveal too much about Season 3, Kepnes has confirmed that a fourth book is in the works. You know what it means, another season of You!
Sera Gamble, a writer for the Netflix hit, hints that Joe may have to face more repercussions for his creepy behavior than he has had in previous seasons. Gamble suggested that Joe would be out of luck at some point and that things wouldn’t be good for him. Much speculation has been made regarding these statements by Gamble.
Another clue as to what’s to come is that Joe seems to be learning some valuable lessons, one of which is that he can’t go on living his life looking for the next person to tie his dreams and hopes to. This makes us speculate that this is exactly what he’s trying to do in Season 3. Of course, that’s not really a spoiler as we see Joe revert to his stalker tendencies as he spies on his neighbor without. mistrust at the end of season 2.
As far as we know, there is no finish line for Joe’s story yet!
