Thousands of vulnerable Afghans have been evacuated to the United States since the start of the Taliban blitz in Afghanistan. Now, a video of popular Afghan singer Sharafat Parwani singing about his homeland after being evacuated to the United States has surfaced on social media.
New York Times reporter Sharif Hassan shared the video with a translation of the lyrics. “You are tired of anguish, my homeland. You are without song or melody, my homeland. You suffer but without medication, my homeland, ”reads the caption of the clip, which has now gone viral with more than 32,000 views.
