Priyanka Chopra seems to be getting bolder by the day. Whether it be her look in her last films, or the characters and the kind of films she is opting for, she seems to be eyeing the numero uno crown. And no, no dumb glam-doll kind of roles for
her, she has made that pretty clear through her no-nonsense interviews in the recent past. She made a point on gay rights too when she told us in a recent chat that they have equal rights to live a dignified life. And now, the actress gives out yet another statement - that she has no qualms playing a lesbian character if offered. After all, according to Piggy Chops sexual preference is a matter of personal choice. "Why not, I would definitely play a lesbian role, provided the film has a good script and the role demands so," says Chopra when asked if she'd accept such a role now that both her last films – '
Fashion' and '
Dostana' - have a gay factor in them.
We have seen men playing gay characters many a time in Bollywood films but women doing the role of a lesbian have been rare. Perhaps the only film that most of us would recollect (or not) is the Eesha Koppikhar- Amrita Arora starrer 'Girlfriend' that ended up in controversies for some bold scenes and also bombed badly at the box-office.
But with
Priyanka Chopra willing to play a lesbian character, the million dollar question is, who among the top actresses will play a lesbian partner to her? Certainly not Kareena Kapoor, given their not-so-great rapport and Priyanka may not want to pair up with Katrina Kaif for her non-existing acting skills! That leaves us with Kangana Ranaut, but rumours have it that the two did not get along so well on the sets of 'Fashion'. So we asked Priyanka herself who would be her preferred choice, and she shot back, "How can I decide, that's up to the filmmakers." Well, we leave it up to the filmmakers too. Any names, guys?

Bollywood News - Dostana's special screening for gays
Bollywood News : Harish Iyer is glad he saw Dostana not surprising as the film helped Harish open up about his sexuality to his 13-year-old sister.
Click here for Dostana Photo Gallery"I took my sister for the film and at the end of the film I told her that I was gay. For a moment there was complete silence and then she asked me are you gay like Abhishek or John?," said Harish Iyer, Event Manager.
Unlike many others who saw this laugh riot, Dostana left Shobha Joshi feeling emotional. She identified completely with Kirron Kher's character in the film who plays Abhishek Bachchan's mother.
Shobha's gay son has found his partner in the United States. "I was very happy when my son found his life partner. In fact I am very attached to him now. I feel like my family is complete now," said Shobha Joshi, housewife.
With constant feedback of how many people have been touched by the film director Tarun Mansukhani feels overwhelmed.
"It's so overwhelming when you hear so many stories. I'm so happy that I went ahead with this script," said Tarun Mansukhani, Director.
Harish Iyer, Shobha Joshi are not just the two lives that have been touched by the film. As Dostana continues to bring in the crowds, the filmmakers hope it encourages more acceptance and openness with a little laughter along the way.

DOSTANA. Accolodes have been coming in from all quarters as both John and Priyanka ignite the heat in their pursuit for acquiring best bodies in the town.
"While John has worked hard on his
physique and made sure that heads (belonging to both women and men) turn around him wherever he goes, I am not surprised since he seems to have been born with a six pack abs.
What amazes me though is the strange body that Priyanka Chopra has", says Tarun Mansukhani, debutant director who is beginning his innings with this Karan Johar production.
How exactly?
"Well, she eats so much and doesn't even work out much. Still, she manages to hold her figure. I guess it's her metabolism that allows her to be this way. With DOSTANA, she could well be termed as a sexy girl next door", smiles Tarun.
Abhishek seems to be just the same though as in all his films, isn't it?
"In fact Abhi too has gone through some transformation as he was still working on DRONA when
DOSTANA began. He was in fact the fittest since even when John would be tired, he would push him to get back on his feet and face the camera", reveals Tarun.
But he doesn't seem to be flaunting his body the way John is in the film. Why is that case?
Defends Tarun, "See the film and you would know for yourself. The kind of body type that he is carrying is something like is required for the character. It is truly in conjunction with the film. In any case, Abhi is a completely changed person for DOSTANA and is looking really fantastic." - Joginder Tuteja

Shah Rukh Khan on Sunday teamed up with a UAE-based real estate firm to launch a USD 2.17 billion signature beachfront residential
project in the gulf country.
The development project, a tribute by King Khan in response to the love and affection shown by the people of the UAE to Indian cinema, Shah Rukh Khan Boulevard will be located on the Dana Island in Ras Al Khaimah.
This is the latest in the series of endorsements and signature developments that are coming up in Dubai with names such as Brad Bitt, Boris Becker and Tiger Woods continuously doing the rounds.
SRK will work closely with Los Angeles based architect Tony Ashai in the design concept of the beachfront community comprising 10 residential towers, it was announced during a press conference here.

Bollywood Gossip : Bollywood superstar
Shah Rukh Khan is
developing a cluster of signature buildings on Al Dana Island in Ras Al Khaimah, one of the UAE's seven emirates, a media report said.
The project in association with the TSA International Investments is called
Shah Rukh Khan Boulevard.
According to the Arabian Business Magazine the actor will be in Dubai from October 6 to 9 to announce the project at real estate expo Cityscape Dubai.
Shah Rukh has reportedly been keenly involved in the conceptualisation of the project that has been designed by celebrity architect Tony Ashai.
Buyers have been invited to offer refundable 'expression of interest' cheques for the proposed studio, one and two bedroom apartments, but sales will begin only after the official launch by Khan on October 20.

Salman Khan completely stumped when she unexpectedly popped the question - “Marry me!" - during the grand finale of 'Dus Ka Dum'.
Rakhi Sawant proposes to Salman in 'Dus Ka Dum'!
Rakhi also produced a ring after asking Salman to marry her, according to a press statement.
During the finale of the 'Nach Baliye 3', last year, when Salman was the chief guest, Rakhi had walked away from the sets in a huff.
Rakhi had lost to Sanjeeda Sheikh and Aamir Ali in the show and stormed off the stage with her beau Abhishek Awasthi in tow. Even though Salman followed her to pacify her, she snubbed him and drove off in her car.
Salman was apparently miffed with her after that. But considering that she was invited to his show, Salman seems to have forgiven the controversy queen.

Bollywood Gossip - Sagarika replaces Esha Deol in Raftaar

Bollywood Gossip : Among the whole bunch of girls who acted in Chak De India alongside SRK, probably the one who managed to
draw maximum eyeballs was Sagarika Ghatge. Sagarika, who played the gutsy character of Preeti Sabarwal, also emerged as the highest goal-scorer in the film.
Now it seems Sagarika has managed to strike a goal in her real life too. The actress has been signed by Percept Picture Company for their film Raftaar (working title). The film is directed by noted ad film maker Shamin Desai. Sagarika will be paired opposite serial-kisser Emraan Hashmi in the film. What is interesting is the fact that the role which Sagarika has been signed for was to be originally played by Esha Deol.
Sarita Patil, Head of feature films at Percept Picture Company, said “Yes we have signed Sagarika for Raftaar. She has replaced Esha Deol as we couldn’t agree on the price. After things didn’t work out with Esha, we had a couple of options in mind and our director Shamin had seen Sagarika’s work in Chak De India and felt she would fit the part. Sagarika’s is a full-fledged lead role opposite Emraan Hashmi.”
The film also stars Neha Dhupia and Aditya Panscholi in prominent roles. Shooting for the film is currently underway in Kuala Lumpur and the film is expected to release sometime early next year (2009).

Bollywood Gossip : The second season of TV reality show Bigg Boss will have controversy galore. With politicians Rahul Mahajan and Sanjay Nirupam, notorious British reality TV star Jade Goody and gangster Abu Salem's companion Monica Bedi among many others, the show will make for exciting viewing over the next three months.
Fourteen contestants including television actors Ketki Dave and Rakhi Vijayan, item girl Sambhavna Seth, actors Payal Rohatgi and Monica Bedi, non-celebrity Elina apart from Jade Goody are part of the female inmates of the Bigg Boss house.
Among the men are model-actor Zulfi Syed, music reality show winner Debojit Saha, MTV Roadies 5.0 winner Ashutosh Kaushik, TV actress Shweta Tiwari's estranged husband Raja Chaudhry, Congress member Sanjay Nirupam, Rahul Mahajan - son of late Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Pramod Mahajan and famous comedian Ehsaan Qureshi.
While all of them will be closeted in a specially designed house for three months under 24-hour surveillance, with no access to telephones or television, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, who had won the international format of the show Celebrity Big Brother in 2007, will be hosting the show.
Shilpa had emerged winner despite racist remarks in Celebrity Big Brother by Goody, who has now come to India to "change people's perception" about her.
Also, Payal Rohatgi's reported closeness with Rahul Mahajan was also earlier this month, an alleged reason for his break-up with his wife Shweta.
Shilpa herself will appear only in the elimination episodes each Friday, communicating with the contestants through a TV screen. Each week, one contestant will be voted out.

Bollywood Gossip : Authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have ordered the Salman Khan-starrer Bollywood film
God Tussi Great Ho off screens in this Gulf nation following complaints that it violated Islamic teachings.
The National Media Council ordered that the movie, released in India and here on Friday, not be screened in the UAE after receiving scores of complaints from viewers.
The movie also stars Priyanka Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan, and is considered a remake of the 2003 Hollywood production
Bruce Almighty starring Jim Carrey.
In the film, Bachchan plays the role of god as he meets Salman's character Arun Prajapati who blames god for all his problems.
"Those who saw the movie told the authorities they were shocked to find that Bachchan played the role of 'god'," reports said.

Unforgettable World Tour, couldn't help but feel elated after hearing the news of Abhinav Bindra winning a gold at the ongoing Olympics in Beijing.
Bachchan got a tremendous response for his perfromance in Chicago but he says nothing surpasses the happiness of hearing about India's proud moment.
Bachchan expresses his glee on his blog. He writes, " As I stepped out of the venue, media from India informs me about our Gold at the Olympics. The rousing reception at the show was incredible but nothing will be able to top the glory that Abhinav Bindra has brought to the heart of every Indian."
Rejoiced by the news, Bachchan thanks Bindra and adds, " We are so proud of you and so delighted to have made every Indian walk a little taller ! Thank you Abhinav, and more glory and success to you."
Well, right now every proud Indian will happily join Big B in congratulating Bindra, after all as Bachchan quotes a friend, "After almost a century and 2 billion births, an Indian wins his first individual gold at the Olympics".

Deepika Padukone nor her place atop Maxim magazine's Hot 100 list can convince Ranbir Kapoor that she is Bollywood's most explosive bombshell. That singular honour, he feels, belongs to
Bipasha Basu.
"I think Bipasha is the sexiest actress in the film industry and for me she will remain the sexiest for another 50 years to come. After working with her in Bachna Ae Haseeno, I realise why she's often described as Bollywood's ultimate sex symbol. I can't think of any other girl who deserves the title more than her," he says.
Ranbir is not deterred by the thought of offending his two Bachna Ae Haseeno co-stars Deepika and Minissha Lamba. Though the dashing young actor insists he enjoyed working with all three leading ladies and stole their hearts, he has no intention of reconsidering his choice. "Even when I compare the three of them, Bipasha is still the sexiest," he says.
According to Ranbir: "Bachna Ae Haseeno is an excellent film and I enjoyed the company of all three girls. We were comfortable working with each other and I hope that the film will really do well at the box office."
Although his debut film failed to set the cash registers ringing, Ranbir hopes for better luck this time. "I remember my nervousness when Saawariya was released. I have the same feeling once again. I guess it happens with most actors. And since I am a newcomer in the industry, I feel even more pressure at the time of a film's release," he admits.

Bollywood Gossip : It's Akshay Kumar's biggest release this year making it to the big screen and one reason is because its running at a record number of screens with shows begining as early as 7am in the morning.
What do most people normally do early in the morning? It is generally have their morning tea or read newspaper but this wasn't the case this Friday.
This Friday there was a 7am screening of Singh is Kinng. It's the first time that a film's show has been screened so early in the morning.
There were 85 people who had come to catch Akshay Kumar's Singh is Kinng, first day first show. It was the first of 28 screenings at a Mumbai multiplex. Other multiplexes are screening it as many as 40 times a day.
That means, on an average, there's a screening every 45 mins.
This is first time ever that a Hindi film's carpet bombing theatres in such a big way to maximise first weekend earnings. Often the decider between a hit and flop.
Last year with four successive hits Akshay Kumar laughed his way to the bank. With this release Bollywood's current king seems set to continue his reign
"There are groups of 500-600 people who have completely booked the theatre for the weekend the response is amazing," said Rakesh Sharma, Manager, Cinemax Sion.
And people seem to be just loving Akki Happy Singh. "It was great. Akshay is very funny, Katrina is beautiful."
Well, as far as the box office fate of the film goes, one will have to wait and watch this space.

Vidya Balan is believed to be taking it easy. The actress is believed to be on a vacation for the next couple of months.viydya
But this is not a planned vacation. In fact, it is a vacation which has been forced on the actress. The actress's next two films, Chenab Gandhi and Pa, do not begin their shooting schedules till another two months. She also has a Vishal Bharadwaj film, which too will begin shooting around September. Besides these few assignments, Vidya hasn't signed any other project. So, till the shoot begins, she has no other option but to sit at home and chill. But she is believed to be putting her vacation to good use. Besides making burkha clad trips to cinema theatres to watch her won film, she is also sitting at home and reading scripts. The actress who is now nine films old in the industry, admits that she was quite nervous before the release of
Kismat Konnection. It is for the first time that she rung up people asking them about how they liked the film. Maybe this anxiety has something to do with a certain Shahid Kapur. Incidentally, the director of the film, Aziz Mirza is least bothered by reports on the film, good or bad. He is currently chilling at his farmhouse.

Bollywood Gossip - Man arrested for sending lewd messages to Sushmita

A 39-year-old man was arrested from Delhi for allegedly threatening actress Sushmita Sen and sending lewd messages to her.
Acting on a complaint filed by Sushmita's assistant
Rebecca Pereira, Amber Gaba was arrested from Delhi's Tilak Nagar locality on Sunday, they said.
Gaba is alleged to have sent eight letters and many SMS's and made threatening calls to Sushmita, a senior police officer from the Khar police station said.
"He started sending SMSs and letters and called Sushmita in February. The actress ignored him initially and then decided to file a complaint when Gaba persisted," the officer said.
Police reached till Gaba through his phone registration details and with the help of the courier company, which had delivered the letters.
Investigators are yet to ascertain Gaba's motive for troubling Sushmita and also the source through whom he received the actress' mobile number. "Gaba can be a fan as well or may be he was doing it just for fun," the officer said.
Gaba has been booked under Sections 506 (ii) (criminal intimidation) and 509 (insulting modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code and was remanded to police custody till April 8 by a local court on Monday.© Copyright 2008 PTI. Celina Jaitley has alleged that cricketers from across the border abused her after she performed at an Indian Cricket League (ICL) match.

Celina Jaitley had finished her performance and was taking what she calls a "glory round" with her security personnel around the stadium, when she heard loud abuses in Hindi coming out of the players' enclosure.
"At first I couldn't believe where it was coming from. I still want to give them the benefit of doubt because it's so hard to believe they could behave this way," she said with a shudder, recalling that she wanted to rush back to her car and drive away from the nightmare.
"But I couldn't because the security guys wouldn't let me pass. So I was stuck listening to myself being described in the most colourful language,"
Celina Jaitley, who was seen in films like "No Entry" and "Shakalaka Boom Boom" said.
The ex-Miss India refuses to lay the blame on anyone for the abusive incident, but she does admit that she recognises the Pakistani players because she had participated in a TV interview with them for a sports channel.
She said, "But what hurts and offends me more is the fact that people from our own country have chosen to speak on behalf of those who abused me. As they say, I am 'just another Bollywood actress'. Fine. Does that mean I don't command even the respect that other woman get?"
All in all it hasn't been a very pleasant Easter and Holi weekend for
Celina.
"I attended my producer Kumar Mangatji's Holi bash Saturday and then having ensured that I wasn't required for shooting Sunday, I left for Delhi for the ICL, tired and irritable. I had no clue what was waiting for me. And to top it all, I had observed Lent this Easter and was very weak and depleted. This wasn't what I expected,"
Celina said.
Celina is a child of a mixed marriage. Her father is a Punjabi and her mother is an Afghan.

Bollywood Gossip - Ranbir's Dad stuns Deepika!
It may take Rishi and Ranbir Kapoor some to find the right vehicle to showcase their mutual talent in a father-son combination.
But Ranbir's lady love
Deepika Padukone
already has that privilege. She will be sharing screen space with Rishi Kapoor in Saif Ali Khan's first production (yet untitled) which has Saif and Deepika in the lead.
Says Deepika, "I did a reading with Rishi Uncle for the film, and I was simply stunned. He's that good. Imtiaz's film will be a departure for me. I'm definitely looking forward to working with Saif. He's one of the best actors we've ever done."
But before that
Deepika is currently shooting for Nikhil Advani's Chandni Chowk To China with Akshay Kumar. "I've trained in martial arts for the film. And I enjoyed myself thoroughly. Because I'm athletic.
People see me as very ladylike and proper. But there's another, very tomboyish side of me which you'll see in Chandni Chowk To China."
Her first post-Om Shanti Om release would be Yashraj Films's Bachna Ae Haseenon where she has to share her boyfriend with two other leading ladies.
"Yes. But that's only for the screen no?" she quips. "It's Ranbir's film all the way. In my very first narration I was sure I wanted to do it. Siddharth Anand suggested I take some time to decide.
But I liked his honesty and I loved my bit in the script. Siddharth was honest enough to tell me there were three other girls with Ranbir in the film—now of course there're only two other girls.
As an actor it's important for me to be part of projects I believe in even if my role is comparatively small."
Deepika has also completed two ads for Pepsi with Ranbir. "Now that I'm doing feature films doing ads feels different.
Just when I'm getting used to a leisurely pace of working again in an ad everything has to be crammed into a few minutes. But ads are fun. They remind me of my beginning."
Coming back to the Kapoors Deepika exults, "I'm lucky enough to work with both Ranbir and Rishi Uncle. Now all I need is a film with Neetu Aunty to complete the picture."

Bipasha Basu who is known for her dusky beauty and sexy because of her past performances, lost on another front. First, she was signed as a brand ambassador by a jewelery brand. Later, the company had second thought that she did not fit the bill because of her dusky complexion and, therefore, did not represent the image of a 'family woman'. So, the brand replaced her with Karisma. The latter is out of the movies but busy in endorsements, presumably due to her relatively white skin. Not only that the company had the gut to inform Bips that she has been replaced by Karisma. This has hurt many a model and actress and of course Bipasha. Amisha Patel, who recently broke off with her director-boyfriend Vikram Bhatt, was spotted with a tall, young man, rumoured to be her new boyfriend, on the first day of the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) here.
The Bollywood actress attended style guru Namrata Joshipura's and designer duo Gauri and Nainika Karan's show on Wednesday.
The actress, flaunting a bright orange knee-length dress, wasn't present at the WIFW for any specific designer or fashion show.
"I think all designers are equally good and I am not here for any particular designer," she said.
However, before she could complete her sentence, her new escort pulled her away.
The couple was seen cosying up during the show.

Celina Jaitley is all set to stage her grand come back with Ganesh Acharaya directed film, 'Money Hai To Honey Hai', after having disappeared from the scene for some time with her International project 'Love Has No Language'.
When I meet her for this interview at her spacious, but well decorated house in the suburbs,
Celina talks in length about the film, and says that it is a story of six friends, who are strugglers in their own respective fields.
"I play a fashion designer, Shruti Pandey who has graduated from NIFT and yet struggles while trying to sell a pattern of her own to export houses", Celina quips at the outset.
The film "Money Hai To Honey Hai",
Celina Jaitley states, sets out to drive home the subtle message that today's education system really sucks and how.
"It is a comical representation of today's education system and stars besides me, stars like Govinda, Aftab Shivdasani, Upen Patel, Manoj Bajpai, Ravi Kishen and Hansika Motwani. Each of us has a different background as a struggler in the film".
Yet another film with which
Celina is quite excited is Subhash Ghai's 'Hello Darling' in which she plays a young catholic girl called Candy Fernandes. "Candy is a little dumb when people try to talk in double language to her.
The film dwells at length about how it is wrong on the part of people in society today to judge a woman on the basis of what she is wearing. It is a chic film and I enjoyed working with Isha Koppikar and Gul Panag", says Celina.
The actress then hastens to clarify, "Just because there are three women in Hello Darling like there were in Charlie's Angels, it does not mean that you should jump to the conclusion that Hello Darling is a rehash of Charlie's Angels".
Celina states that she can identify herself with the role in Hello Darling completely.
"People feel that I am anglicized and cannot talk in Hindi when the fact is that I am from a Hindi medium school background and very good in Sanskrit and Hindi.
I may flaunt blood costumes on the screen, but am conservative at heart and a very simple and down to earth girl who is rooted to the family".
Celina is happy that she gets to play a comic role in Golmaal Returns. "I am a young well educated girl who is doing her graduation in Microbiology.
Just as
Kareena Kapoor's character is named Ekta Kapoor, my character is named Mira Nair, though it has got nothing to do with filmmaker Mira Nair. I have been teamed opposite Shreyas Talpade in the film.
The best thing about Shreyas and me is that we have very good timing to carry off the comedy scenes. I have been a great fan of Sridevi as far as comedy roles are concerned", states Celina.
Celina confesses that she realized that she had a comic streak to her as an actress when she acted in 'No Entry' in which she had a zany comic role.
"After No Entry, I have done a spate of comedy films like Apna Sapna Money Money, Tom Dick & Harry, Money Hai To Honey Hai and now Golmaal Returns"
After Apna Sapna Money Money and Hello Darling, Celina has been repeated in Paying Guest by Mukta Arts. "I am lucky to have been singled out by Ghaisaab for a third film in his production company.
I play a cry baby architect in 'Paying Guest' which by the way is being directed by Paritosh Painter. I have been a fan of Paritosh who comes up with excellent plays.
Besides the Mukta Arts, I have also been signed for a three- film contract by Kumar Mangat, Ashtavinayak and Suneel Darshan"
Celina is quite excited about her recent foray to the West with a film called 'Love Has No Language' directed by Ken Khan.
"I play an Indian Bengali girl brought up in New Zealand. My parents played by Kiran Kumar and Rati Agnihotri are very orthodox and want me to marry an Indian boy of their choice, whereas I am in love with a Kiwi boy.
I am kiwi by nature and hence am stuck between my family and the boy played by Ben Mitchell. with whom I am in love with. It is a modern story"
It is interesting to note that Celina was slated to act in yet another English film called 'Quest of Shehzada'. "However because of the writer's Strike abroad, the film has been kept on hold and the shooting is yet to start.

Lara Dutta sheds her inhibitions
Bollywood Gossip - Model turned Actress Lara Dutta is on a fast track now. There's a new determination in her to overcome her inhibitions, whatever they might be worth.
While she prepares to do her first ever avant-garde film Devdas with Sudhir Mishra where she intends to change her entire image and get-up to play a modern-day Paro, in a new sporty film entitled Blue Lara has
gone several steps further.
She has actually managed to overcome her fear of the underwater to do some serious scuba-diving with the ever-sporty Akshay.
For years now Lara has been petried of taking the plunge. Akshay urged her to not only accept a film that needed her to go against her ingrained fears, but also helped her out of the dive-despair.
Laughing throatily Lara admits she has gotten over a lifelong fear. "But I can't speak about what it is. Yes, Akshay's natural sporty spirit is highly contagious. And it did help me to take the plunge."
She reminisces fondly about Akshay. "He was my first co-star in Andaaz and very very helpful. Then we did Bhagam Bhaag when he was fully into comedy.
I didn't know I had a comic streak in me until then. Now that he's returning to action, I'm also moving on from comedy to action big time."
Man's world is show -world. Even a free-spirited actress like Lara Dutta has to follow in the leading man's footsteps.

Aishwarya Rai refused to represent LG as brand ambassadors for all their products across-the-board.
The company had made them an eye-popping
offer.
Reason? He didn't want to be even remotely unfaithful to another cell-phone manufacturing company.
A source close to the Bachchans said: "LG was very keen to have Bollywood Actors Abhishek and
Aishwarya to endorse their entire range of products across the line. It was a tempting and lucrative offer.
"LG's range of products included cell-phones and Abhishek is already endorsing Motorala cell phones. So he had to decline the offer. But he has received a letter from the company saying they would love to have him and his wife as brand ambassadors any time they so wish."
The Abhishek-Aishwarya pair won't be seen in any advertisement at the moment, but they are coming together in Mani Ratnam's next venture that goes to the floor as soon as Abhishek returns from Miami after filming Karan Johar's home production,
Dostana.
The film is being directed by Tarun Mansukhani and also stars
Priyanka Chopra and John Abraham.
At the moment Abhishek is working 20 hours a day to wrap up Rakeysh Mehra's
Delhi 6, which completed a two-month schedule in Jaipur and is now being shot in Mumbai.

Bollywood News - Govinda is eager to work with David Dhawan
Bollywood actor Govinda is very excited about getting together with David Dhawan and producer Vashu Bhagnani again and says he will create something thoroughly entertaining.
'We've created quite a sensation in the past with 'Hero No. 1' and 'Coolie No. 1'. We'll definitely create full entertainment again. Yes, it'll be a comedy. I'll try my level best that we come back with a film that will do justice to all three of us,' says Govinda.

Govinda says he owes his comeback to David Dhawan.
'It's something I learnt from
Mr (Amitabh) Bachchan. When he needed to make a comeback, he called Yash Chopra for 'Mohabbatein'. Similarly, when I needed to come back I rang up David and he gave me 'Partner'.'
Govinda has no qualms in admitting he was influenced by the Big B.
'Yeah, I copied Mr. Bachchan. I'm not anything like
Mr Bachchan, but why shouldn't I copy a man as great as him? If he can reach out to a filmmaker, why can't I? David is such a big man. Today, if he asks me to do another film with him, I don't even need to think about it - I will do it blindly.'
Bollywood actor Govinda has never been more charged about his career.
'I don't really care what people say about me. All I know is I'm doing my work with sincerity. And I've become very punctual. I reach my sets on time. I'm not here to create any problems for anyone. If I'm doing my work quietly, why are some people troubled by it? But I'm not going to get rattled.'
Govinda, who joined politics and earned a lot of flak from colleagues in the party, has no regrets.
'I don't regret anything, not even my entry into politics. I respect politicians because they are doing their jobs very efficiently. But the fame and fortune I've got has come through Mata Saraswati, my art (movies). No one has the right to eye my career and try to ruin it.'
Kumar Mangat, producer of
Govinda's 'Money Hai To Honey Hai', added: 'A miracle happened during the shooting. We finished Govindaji's work in 60 days when we had reserved 85 days for him. In Mauritius, where we shot most of the film, Govinda was the first of the cast to wake up.
'In fact, he'd wake me up and we'd have our morning tea together. I remember we had to shoot at a discotheque in Mauritius. We had to reach at 8 a.m. and all we saw were the janitors at work. That's how punctual Govinda has become.'
In fact, Mangat is planning another film with
Govinda this year.
'He's a pleasure to work with,' the producer said

Bollywood bombshell and Outrageous bikini babe Sherlyn Chopra is going to set the Kannada and southern film industry on fire. Other established southern sirens had
better watch out, for Sherlyn is determined to leave no stone unturned to give them a run for their money.
"When I do something I give it my hundred per cent. I will do what ever it takes to be the best and make an impression in Tollywood," says a fiery Sherlyn when asked how she would compete with the existing lot. Sherlyn is known for her uncanny ability to look sexy in anything she wears, whether it's a skirt or jeans or her trade mark G-strings.
According to reliable sources, Sherlyn Chopra will be seen gyrating to a steaming hot item number in the Kannada movie titled MADEHSHA starring Shivraj Kumar, son of Dr Raj Kumar. The lead heroine is not yet finalized, but sources said that Sherlyn was the most likely choice for the lead.
MADESHSHA is directed by Ravi Srivatsa and is produced by Govardhan Murthy. Sherlyn is expected to shoot the sizzling hot item number in Bangalore during the second or third week of March this year. The item song will be choreographed by Imran Sardhariya and is expected to be one of the most expensive productions ever made in the Kannada film industry.
Many other Bollywood actresses including Malaika Arora Khan and Sameera Reddy were approached for this item number, but Sherlyn Chopra won hands down for her Outrageous and wild, devil-may-dare image, curvaceous body and great dancing feet.
Sherlyn when contacted refused to deny or confirm the news. "My manager is talking to them, we are discussing certain issues, you can ask him if it's confirmed or not," was all that the sex bomb would say.
Insiders say that Sherlyn Chopra is being paid Rs 35 lakh for doing the item song. Apparently, the producer-director duo were so keen on having Sherlyn do the item number that they agreed to pay her the outrageous sum, even though other well-known girls in the industry were quoting only half of Sherlyn's price.
Her music video and album Outrageous was showcased to a standing ovation in Barcelona, Spain at the Global Mobile World Awards. Sherlyn Chopra is slated to be working on a couple of Hollywood projects as well.

Curiosity around the sets of Madhur Bhandarkar’s much hyped, eagerly waited Fashion grows as breaches in security leak information and generate rumours.
The director is concerned that someone else could beat him to the story. Going by Bhandarkar’s thematic preoccupations – taking digs at the media in Page 3, business houses in Corporate, and organized begging in Human Traffic –it isn’t so hard to predict that Fashion is going to be a critique of the burgeoning fashion industry in India. He has the entire crew sworn to secrecy. When the new kid on the block, Neil Mathur, visited the director on the sets, speculations were rife about his involvement in Fashion. Later, the actor confirmed that it was just a casual chat.
Fashion is constantly in the news for all the tense secrecy shrouding it, where any piece of information leaked to the press (like a shot detail) turns up in print. The director is also worried that all this hype and unwanted attention could kill the film’s chances at the box office, or worse, have a rival movie on the fashion industry come out before his.
Kangana Ranaut’s now famous ‘wardrobe malfunction’ (the actress’ slip falls down) as she walks down the ramp in a scene from Fashion, has already generated huge talk. Ms. Ranaut’s boldness – basically, consenting to do this herself rather than a body double – is being seen by some people as brazen. However, Bhandarkar is determined to push ahead with filming, hoping for a grand, overwhelming reception unsullied by hype.

Shahrukh Khan received the coveted French honour Officer dans l'Ordre des Aris et des Lettres (Officer of the order of Arts and Letters) by the Ambassador of France in India, Jerome Bonnafont, at a special ceremony at the Grand Hyatt.
With this honour, Khan joined the ranks of Hollywood stars like George Clooney, Clint Eastwood, Robert Redford, Meryl Streep, Bruce Wills and Leonardo Di Caprio. Arundhati Roy is the other famous Indian recipient of this award.
The honour is given by the French government to people excelling in the field of art, literature and/or influencing the art and culture of France.
A French delegation was also present on the occasion, for the first Rendezvous with French Cinema in India.

Kareena Kapoor's ultimate dream is to do a romantic movie with Shah Rukh Khan. The actress can't seem to stop gushing over her favourite actor.
"Very frankly I did the
Yeh mera dil song in
Don
because of Shah Rukh. My ultimate wish is to do a full-on love story with him," said the actress whose latest movie
Jab We Met is a box-office hit.
"When Farhan Akhtar offered me the song I wondered if making a guest appearance was right for me. However, the temptation of doing a song with Shah Rukh got the better of me."
Kareena says she is glad she did the song. "It got me tremendous notice. My niece Samaira has become my biggest fan. She dances to the song. And the minute she sees me she starts singing
Yeh mera dil pyar ka deewana," said the young Kapoor.
The actress, who is listening to new scripts every day, has given the go-ahead to only two new projects.
"I've decided I can't do run of the mill films any more. I've done enough films without conviction. And it shows in my performances. Unlike my sister Karisma who could look convincing in any role, I've to be convinced about the role."
Talk about her movie
Omkara and Kareena's face brightens up.
"It's one film I'm truly proud of. I'm looking forward to working with Vishal Bharadwaj again. He's one of those rare directors who know how to tap into my potential. I need directors like Vishal and Imtiaz Ali of
Jab We Met to come forward and give me a chance. That's why I've taken a long break to get my act together. I don't want to look back on my career with any regrets," she said.

Bollywood Gossip - Everyone is happy with Amisha's split
The Love game is over for Amisha Patel and Vikram Bhatt and now there is a new man in Amisha’s life - a UK based businessman, Kanav Puri, who was earlier dating Priya Sachdev Chatwal.
We hear that the actress met Kannav at a function in Delhi. They became great friends and soon their friendship blossomed into love. The two have been seen together at parties and nightclubs.
Amisha has also moved out of Vikram’s Andheri residence and is learnt to be staying with a friend nowadays. This split between Amisha and Vikram has made her estranged parents very happy who never approved of her relations with Bhatt.
In fact Amisha had publicly severed all relations with her mother Asha and father Amit after she started living-in with Vikram. So, despite the split it is still a sensitive issue for Asha who still has not called up her daughter.

"The hair is thicker, no eye bags, no double chin, arms are bigger and the nose is sharper". Those were the exact words of Salman Khan when he came face to face with his wax replica at the world famous Madame Tussauds Museum in London. Well, who else could have understood his look-alike better than the actor himself?
He further added, “I always wanted some competition and now I have it" setting the crowd into laughter, like he always does. Sallu bhai is well known for his taunting comments, wacky answers and shocking replies to his critics, fans and media. So when asked why his family didn't travel with him, he tactfully replied, “The whole family back home is really excited but since London was so cold, they wouldn't travel."
Salman came to the venue in a white Bentley. Accompanying him was his younger sister Arpita, Bobby Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Khan himself wore a long brown leather over-coat with his famous torn jeans (he was the one who started the trend of torn jeans in the Hindi Film Industry) and white glittery t-shirt. Salman circled his wax figure by looking at it from top to bottom, when suddenly one of the
journalists asked him whether his wax replica was the exact depiction of him in every department. The reply that came from Salman shocked everyone. “I still haven't looked properly. I mean inside his jeans." He was just himself today – ‘bindaas’. Salman Khan revealed that apart from his lucky bracelet and favorite Harley Davidson jacket, there wasn't anything else he donated to the wax figure.
However, that wasn't enough for the 42 year old film Bollywood actor. He said, “Even though I came in slightly later than Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Shah Rukh Khan, I still think they all are following me. After today, I don't think there is any Bollywood actor who is worthy enough to be standing next to me in Madame Tussauds." Don't worry guys! Our Sallu bhai was just kidding; after all, we are well versed with his sense of humor. He then added, “I think on a more serious note, Aamir Khan should have been the first one to be standing in Madame Tussauds."
One thing is for certain, January 15, 2008 will be best remembered as Salman Khan's day. Unfortunately, the weather was so bad that he could not even take off his T-shirt. Jokes apart, this will indeed be a proud day for all the Bollywood fans across the globe and the Indian Film Industry.

Bindaas -- UTV's entertainment channel for the youth, had its first concert called the ‘Airtel Bindaas India' concert at the MMRDA grounds.
Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan stole the show with his enigmatic presence. The show hosted by Sajid Khan had opening acts by Rakhi Sawant, Mouli Dave, Neeti Mohan, and Kunal Ganjawala, enthralling the audiences. It was when Dia Mirza, Dino Morea, and Priyanka Chopra took centre-stage dancing to some of their popular tracks the audience went berserk asking for more. The winners were given gifts like a certificate, a copy of Shah Rukh's biography SRK- Still Reading Khan and a large size cut out of the star which he himself autographed.

Bollywood actress Riya Sen is waiting for her name to be included in the record books not for her work but the way her name is being allegedly involved with Bollywood actors.
"It's not very surprising if in sometime my name will feature in record books for my alleged romantic relations with my co-actors. Everyday there is a rumour of a new affair. If I get into one love relation, people make it 10. I don't know how to convince people that I don't change boyfriends everyday."
Riya says that her alleged romantic involvement with Asmit Patel, Vivek Oberoi, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Khanna, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan and couple of other actors have now become a thing of past.
"I don't say that I was never involved with anyone ever. But I haven't had an affair with all of them. Most of them were just rumours. In coming days I am looking forward to be rumoured to involve with more new names. So, nowadays I have stopped denying or countering these rumours. If people come and ask me that whether I am going around with an actor I confirm it rather than dismiss it. I know even if I deny people will write what they want to write so there is no point trying to convince," she said.
She further says: "I know one rumour will not last for more than a month or so. So why bother about them? Let people involve me with whosoever they want. It won't bother me now. On the contrary I will enjoy it. In fact nowadays I tell people openly that I am married and have kids also. I am giving them more fodder so that they can write whichever way they like."
Asked who are the actors she has been really involved with she says, "I don't see any reason to disclose my previous affairs. Neither I personally like to talk about my present affair. But when people write things without any facts I don't like to deny also, for the reasons I have just told you. So, if I am allegedly involved with all the actors, directors and people of film industry I don't mind. It will bring me to a record book for allegedly having affair with all the stars."

Deepika never had a Bollywood dream initially, says her dad

BANGALORE: Deepika Padukone never aspired to be a Bollywood actor and was always interested in modeling and the fashion industry, says her father.
The model-turned actress shot to spotlight with the success of her first film 'Om Shanti Om' (OSO),
co-starring Shah Rukh Khan.
"She was always interested in modelling... in the fashion industry. We knew that her interest was towards that (modelling) and she had done a few ads when she was still in school... films were not anywhere on her mind initially," recalls Prakash Padukone, former badminton champion.
"She wanted to be a model. And it was only when she was modelling - she modelled for about two years - I think somewhere down the line... during that period, she decided she would try her hand in acting also," he said.
Asked whether he had any regrets on his daughter not taking up a sports career, Padukone said, "We, both me and my wife, believe in encouraging our children in whatever they are interested in not imposing our views. That way, they excel when you enjoy whatever you do".
"Because, these days, there are opportunities in any field. One does not have to be an engineer or doctor to make a good living. There is scope for an artist or a singer or a performer in the last five years or ten years."
"So, we were very sure that we would encourage them in whatever field. That's also been our experience in the past. You push somebody into something which you want them to be, then both will be disappointed, and they may not be inclined," he said.
Life has not been the same again for the 22-year-old actress after she struck it big in her maiden venture. But her dad wants her to remain humble, focused and not get carried away by the new-found celebrity status
Deepika Padukone PhotosHe believes that she has to work hard and realise her true potential for long-term success.
"I believe she has good potential. But a lot depends on her. She has to be very focused, disciplined, dedicated and concentrate on her work. Because we have seen in a lot of other fields also.... having potential is one thing. But all of them (with potential) don't necessarily make it to what they are capable of," Padukone said.
She may not be able to lead the life she did 3-4 years ago. She will have some limitations being celebrity now. But to the extent possible, we would like her to be as grounded as possible and have a separate life, which is personal life and the one when you are on the sets," he said.
Padukone said initially he wasn't sure if Deepika had landed a lead role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in 'OSO'.
"Initially, we were not sure whether it would actually happen. But Deepika was fully convinced.
We thought she might get a small role. We didn't know what the story was."
"Then, she told us, she will be the heroine and Shah Rukh Khan will be the hero. Then, the film got postponed for a while. So, we were not sure whether it would actually happen. She waited for one-and-half years. She knew that it was a big break for her," Padukone reminisced.
Prakash said his family thoroughly enjoyed 'OSO', and it was a different experience seeing Deepika on the big screen with Shah Rukh Khan. "I am glad that the movie has done well and is still doing well," he said.
"Basically we were happy for her acting considering that she does not have any film background. But I think she has come up the hard way and she has put in a lot of effort. Of course, a lot of credit goes to the director (Farah Khan) also for extracting a good performance."
"I think she looked very confident and very graceful. So we were very happy for her and extremely thrilled that she could get a good break," he added.
Prakash said Deepika has to evolve herself as an actor. "She has got a long way to go. There are so many established actors and actresses in the industry and she has got to learn from them."
"If you feel that you have achieved everything, learnt everything and nothing more to learn, then stagnation will start. And it will be the same for her also. She is still very young.

Saif and Kareena will holiday together for three days

Bollywood Gossips : Kareena Kapoor had made a quick and discreet trip to Bangkok last month to meet Saif Ali Khan who was shooting there for Kunal Kohli’s upcoming film.
The couple left for Greece in the wee hours on Friday morning from Sahar International airport. However, the shooting begins only on Monday, January 7.
Saif and Kareena will holiday together for three days before they
start shooting for Tashan there. A friend of Kareena tells us, “They will get three days together without being disturbed. Their romance is at a different level now, and contrary to expectations, it is growing stronger by the day. Kareena also calls him Saifu, lovingly.”
Source adds, “The couple worked out their schedule cleverly so that they could spend quality time together in Athens before the hectic schedule of Tashan begins.”
While Kareena’s Bangkok visit in December, where the couple spent almost two days together, was a quiet affair, this time the couple was open and cool about their exit together from the Sahar International airport.
Arm and the manSaif Ali Khan is seeking inspiration from English footballer David Beckham’s famous Victoria tattoo. As a tribute to his three-month-old girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, the suave actor has now tattooed her name,
written in Devnagari, on his left forearm.
Saif, who has been working on the design of the tattoo for weeks, got inked on Thursday morning at Hakim’s Alim in Bandra. A reliable source close to the actor informs, “He has been toying with the idea of getting the Kareena tattoo for a while now. He has done some serious research on tattoo designs before zeroing down on this one. He just wanted a simple tattoo with not too many design elements.”
The tattoo artiste took almost two hours to complete the design and Saif was seen getting restless as he had to report to Yash Raj Studios for dance rehearsals. Later he was seen flaunting his newly-acquired tattoo but was not too keen to talk about it. A source from Yash Raj Studios, who did not want to be named, says, “Saif was very happy with his tattoo.
He was completely at ease with the attention it attracted.” However, Saif was seen making a conscious effort to hide the tattoo under a jacket when he reported at the Sahar international airport along with Kareena.

Niwas to direct for SRK
E Niwas is on cloud nine! The talented director, whose new film
My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves will hit the screens next week, seems to have caught the attention of none other than Shah Rukh Khan.
Reportedly, King Khan has assigned the directorial reins of his forthcoming film to Niwas.
"That's true," Niwas confirms, "He has offered a film to me, which I have gladly accepted. His company Red Chillies will be producing the film, but let me clarify, it wouldn’t be starring him."
Meanwhile, the principal cast of
My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves is touring various cities to promote the film. They’ve already visited Ahmedabad and will be visiting Delhi, Lucknow, Jaipur and Hyderabad in the next few days

The story of three Marathi actors who were denied entry into a restaurant in a suburban Mumbai's 7-star hotel isn't isolated.
Celina Jaitley recently had a nightmarish experience in the same hotel. "I went into the sports' lounge of this hotel with a gay foreigner friend of mine for just ten minutes.
I saw a tall imposing middleaged German guy making obscene gestures at me. At first I ignored him out of embarrassment. Then he got bolder and came up to me to tell me in German in picturesque detail what he'd like to do to me.
He didn't know I speak German fluently. That was it. I asked the hotel's authorities to deal with the situation, since they hadn't allowed my bodyguard in. Forget about challenging the German lecher they said they didn't know who he was!
Luckily I had seen him sign his room number on his bill."
When the posh hotel's cowardly personnel did nothing to help Celina, she left but returned the next day with three vans of cops, got the man out of his room and confronted him.
"He fell to his knees and cried and begged saying he has a wife and children back home. He should've thought of them when he treated me to such vulgar intentions.
I made him write an apology and then for his
family's sake decided not to press charges. The worst thing was, nobody in the hotel wanted to co-opearate with me in dealing with this situation.
Even some of my well-wishers advised me to forget about it. What I want to know is, whom do these hotels cater to?
Are they for us Indians? Or are all the amenities and facilities only for foreigners? Why are foreigners given such blatantly preferential treatment in these posh hotels?"
The actress decided to speak up on the matter after she heard about the humiliation of the Marathi actors who weren't allowed in because of their kolhapure chappals.
"This isn't the first time that such an incident has happened. Some time ago, a dress designer friend of mine requested the same hotel's security to inspect his car in the portico as he didn't want the clothes in the car to get wet in the rain.
There was an argument. They slammed the car bonnet on his hand and fractured it…Don't they care about people who are not foreigners? Are these high-flying places so busy making big bucks that they've forgotten a basic sense of decency?"

Gauri Khan, Vogue's cover girl
Shah Rukh Khan has every reason to preen. No, it doesn't have anything to do with his six packs. Rather, it's his wife Gauri Khan who is the center of attention.The mother of two has been chosen as the cover girl of Vogue India for its January edition.
The pictures were shot against the eight-floor extension of the Khans' sprawling home, Mannat.
'This is not my profession,' Gauri said. 'It has to be something really new and unusual to make me want to do something like this. I did enjoy the shoot but to be honest, I wouldn't do it very often."
"This collaboration between Gauri and Vogue India is a natural fit," says Priya Tanna, Editor Vogue India. "It is her first solo cover and a coup of sorts for Vogue. That she is stylish, enigmatic, and poised is known, but at the shoot we saw another side of her, that of a cover girl. Director Anees Bazmee has scotched rumours about actor Salman Khan interfering in girlfriend Katrina Kaif's latest film, Welcome. Bazmee remain unperturbed by the rumours and has dismissed it as loose talk.
It will be remembered that there were reports of the superstar being upset with Katrina for wearing short skirts for the film's promos. But Bazmee insists that Salman is like a good friend of his and is sure that if he was truly upset he would have definitely spoken to him about it.
Bazmee has worked with Salman in No Entry and says that the actor never interefered in that film as well. The only time that he came to the sets of Welcome was when Bazmee wanted to narrate a story to him.
As for his future plans, at the moment, Bazmee is also directing Vipul Shah's Singh Is King. which features Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif. He says that he would love to make a love story starring his favourites Ajay Devgan and Kajol. At the moment he is all primed for the release of Welcome, which takes a funny look at the mafia.

Sridevi Set to Follow in Madhuri's Steps

Producer Boney kapoor has confirmed that actress wife Sridevi, in semi-retirement all this while, will make a comeback to films next year. It seems that even though Madhuri Dixit's Aaja nachle did not set fire to the box office, it has definitely charged Sridevi.
The actress who gave up the archlights to be at home with Boney and their children in 1997, is now at a place in life where she is comfortable with the idea of returning to films. Sridevi began working at the age of six. When she got married she was at the stage when she had no more interest left in acting. But now that her daughters have grown up, she is open to the idea of acting in a film a year. Boney has confirmed the news, saying that he would be foolish not to utilize the talent of one of Hindi cinema's most talented actresses, when she is right there in his house. There has been talk even before of Sridevi's imminent return but now post the Madhuri comeback, it is absolutely definite that Sridevi will be staging her comeback. Boney confirmed that they are looking at a couple of scripts very seriously. The film for Sridevi should be happening next year, he says.

She is just 21 and doesn't want to get married and yet two of the biggest stars of Indian cricket team and her friends, Yuvraj singh and M S Dhoni are putting all their efforts to woo this doe-eyed beauty.
Intially it was MSD who invited her to a T20 cricket match against Australia but on this Wednesday when Yuvi hosted a birthday bash at the JW Marriott hotel Deepika Padukone was invited the special guest of the evening.
Cricket buddies Zaheer Khan and Ashish Mehra showed up while others kept away. M S Dhoni probably didn’t show up to save Deepika and Yuvraj the embarrassment of being in the same room as him.
As Yuvi cut a cake, the duo danced to Bollywood numbers and had a blast.
The on-lookers claim that Padukone, who is also being touted to be Krrish's next leading lady, played the perfect host at the event. She mingled with the guests as if she belongs to Yuvi's family. The duo looked more than just friends if their body language was any indication.
Though Yuvi's ex-flame Kim was also invited but she delibratly gave the event a skip.
“I didn’t remember it was Yuvraj’s birthday. If it was, I hope it was a great party. I’ve heard Deepika was part of the celebrations and if she was, good for her,” exults Kim.
Let's hope there is no tension in the Indian team owing to the Yuvraj-Deepika-Dhoni triangle.
