Bollywood Gossip - Mallika isn't the only girl I've kissed
Wednesday, July 23, 2008
Bollywood Gossip : Rahul Bose is at it again. Even before we could get over his smooching spree with Mallika Sherawat in Pyaar Ke Side Effects, he's back at it in Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam.

"I've four kissing scenes with Mallika this time. Every time my director Sanjay Chhel was frustrated by my lack of talent, he asked me to kiss Mallika," said Rahul. Is there a direct link between Mallika and Rahul's kissing urges?

"It's not as though we volunteered to kiss. It was a part of the story. Mallika isn't the only co-star I've kissed. I kissed Laila Rouass in Split Wide Open, Perizaad Zorabian in Mumbai Matinee. And in Govind Nihalani's Takshak, I kissed Nethra Raghuraman.

"Lately, I've kissed Saba Azad in Dil Kabaddi. So my kisses spread far and wide. Did I kiss Rinki Khanna in Jhankaar Beats? I can't remember."

That's quite a track record, almost a rival to Emraan Hashmi's reputation as a serial kisser.

"Thank you. I only aim to satisfy," laughed Rahul. "As for the second question, that's unfair to the other actor. Kissing on screen is always a gamble. It somehow doesn't come across as aesthetically as it should. So I'm not a great fan of on-screen kissing.

"However, I must say all the kisses I've done so far have been integral to the script, barring the one in Mumbai Matinee."

Rahul admits his interaction with Mallika on the sets of Maan Gaye... was relatively limited.

"In Pyaar Ke Side Effects, we were constantly together. But here there was a vast cast on the sets, including Paresh Rawal who's one of the most talented actors I've ever worked with."

Doing straight-faced comedy comes easily to Rahul. But this is the first time he is doing this broad satirical kind of comedy.

"Did I have fun shooting Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Aazam? Let's get one thing straight. It's never fun to shoot. It requires a great deal of discipline and energy to make a film look like fun.

"I believe a film should be as light as a souffl . And to make a souffle isn't easy. But yes, the film is fun. Sanjay and I had a great deal of verbal jousting going on. We had this north Mumbai versus south Mumbai war going on. I kept ribbing him for being a Hindu fundamentalist. He kept teasing me for being a pseudo-secular."

Then Rahul reveals a secret.

"Actually, I started my career as an actor on stage doing the kind of comedy I've done in Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam. In the play Topsy Turvy, I did nine roles, all of them satirical. I always wanted to do the broad satire in cinema. So here I am."

The actor says he would love to do at least one film from every genre. "I'm doing my first full-on action film in July. We're shooting it at Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok."

I would never Kiss or Strip-Ayesha Takia
Tuesday, February 5, 2008
She said no to Nagesh Kukunoor, the guy who gave her career's best bollywood film Dor.

"I just couldn't do the kissing scene in Aashayein. We tried to find a way out. But it didn't work out for me.

Fortunately for me, Nagesh is a dear friend. He didn't hold my no against me. We completed Tasveer with Akshay Kumar in Canada. And there was nothing there to make me uncomfortable."

Bollywood Actress Ayesha Takia is aware that her more uninhibited colleagues are making hey-hey-hey while she refuses to get bold on camera.

"But I don't mind losing out on roles. At least ten years from now I don't want to look back and cringe at anything. I've a family and a boyfriend. And I don't want to embarrass anyone."

Ayesha Takia [ Exclusive Photo Gallery ]

Ayesha has an exciting year ahead with films with big-league heroes. "I'm working with Actor Ajay Devgan in Sunday, Akshay Kumar in Nagesh Kukunoor's supernatural-psychological thriller Tasveer. We shot it in one stretch in Canada.

Then I've Prabhu Deva's Wanted, an action film with Bollywood Actor Salman Khan. Here I don't have much to do. I hang around doing whatever leading ladies do …sing, dance and purse my lips when the hero fights," she says with disarming honesty.

Candid in her self-assessment, she sees a boyfriend as no impediment to her career.

"In fact I'm so glad Farhan is no part of the industry. And that he's a self- made man who loves me for whom I am. I don't think having a boyfriend is any problem for a career.

The only annoying part of having a boyfriend is that every time I've a release I'm informed by the press that I'm getting married in two months. It irritates me. When I get married I'll announce it from rooftops. I'm proud of my boyfriend." says Actress Ayesha Takia

Boyfriend is no problem. But her selfcensorship code does hamper her onward progression. "There're things that I wouldn't do, like kiss and wear certain kinds of clothes.

And yes that does put me at a disadvantage. But I'm very happy with the work that I'm getting. After Dor I'm being taken seriously as an actress. "

Last year she had a patch of rough whether when Salaam-e-Ishq and No Smoking bombed. "Everyone kept asking why I reappeared in No Smoking in a double role.

I'd like all questions about that film to be directed to the director Anurag Kashyap. please. I've no clue.It was small role, just ten days' work I'd do another film for Anurag anytime. He's a friend.

King Khan learning French kissing
Sunday, February 3, 2008
Being a versatile actor Shah Rukh Khan has played a variety of characters, but has been most popular in romantic roles. Everyone, including the directors and the audience are aware of this and they know how effectively King Khan can express love through his telling eyes. What is, however, significant is that despite acting in numerous romantic films, Shah Rukh has never done a kissing scene!

It is not that King Khan was never offered a kissing scene, but the fact remains that our Bollywood icon cannot endure witnessing him kissing on screen. However, it seems that it is time that Shah Rukh will break the legacy as he has himself confessed recently that he is so influenced by French kiss, that he cannot express it in words. Believe it or not, Shah Rukh says that during his childhood days he used to secretly watch French films just to see those exciting and intimate French kisses! In those days itself, our Bollywood icon had decided to learn the art of French kissing some day or the other.

King Khan humbly says that while he has managed to master the art of acting to a certain extent, he is yet to learn the art of French kissing. Although it's entirely a personal affair to know on whom he has practiced the art of French kissing, we presume it must be his better half Gauri.

Shah Rukh is keen to experiment new roles each time and so, we are of the opinion that there is nothing to be surprised if someday we see him plant a French kiss on screen on any of his heroines. Now who can have any objection if King Khan breaks the rules he has set for himself? Now the question is whether King Khan will plant the French kiss on his heroine with the same passion that he expresses his love through his eyes for his leading ladies on screen.

Kareena my true love-Saif
Sunday, January 20, 2008
Chhote Nawab has finally come out in open and accepted that he is 'extremely and completely committed' to Kareena Kapoor and would like to spend the rest of his life with her.

Saif, who has just wound up filming for Kunal Kohli's next in Bangkok, is very confident about his relationship with Kareena.
"I'm extremely and completely committed. I've found true love and I'd like people to respect that as much as I do," he said.
Kareena is known to be volatile and both she and Khan come with a baggage of failed past relationships, but Saif dismissed concerns that could impact his current relationship with Kareena.
"A lot of people say a lot of things. She's the most wonderful person I know," he says.

Kareena started dating Shahid Kapoor in 2004. The two are believed to have split in August while Shahid was away in Toronto filming for Aziz Mirza's next.

Kareena and Saif acknowledged being an item in October at the grand finale of the Lakme Fashion Week.

Saif married actress Amrita Singh in October 1991 but the couple divorced after 13 years of marriage and two children in 2004.

Following his divorce Saif dated Italian Rosa Catalino but the two broke up in 2007.

The 37-year-old Saif is now all set to take his relationship with 27-year-old Kareena to the next level and commit to a life together.

Kareena and Khan co-star in Yash Raj Films' forthcoming Tashan and became close during its filming earlier this year.

When tabloids first reported their romantic linkup Kareena, who was still in a publicly acknowledged relationship with Shahid Kapoor, denied the reports contending Saif was just a friends.

Later, when she broke up with Shahid it appeared she had dumped him for Saif.

Saif implicitly acknowledged the problem.

"We do live our lives in the public glare. We're open to people passing judgment on us. I've no problem with that," he says.

Saif completed filming for Kunal Kholi's next in Bangkok five days ahead of schedule and he is taking advantage of that by holidaying in Hong Kong, accompanied by daughter Sarah, son Ebrahim and new found love Kareena.

Mallika is now Rs one crore girl too
Thursday, January 17, 2008
Mallika Sherawat had quite a successful 2007 with a hat-trick of box office successes to her name. However, even though 'Guru', 'Aap Ka Surroor - The Moviee' and 'Welcome' were all money spinners, Mallika only had supporting roles or cameo appearances in each of the three films.

While in 'Guru', she gyrated to the tune of chartbuster track 'Maiyya Maiyya', in case of 'Aap Kaa Surroor - The Moviee' there were rumors about her charging a whopping Rs one crore in fees for a short appearance.

Mallika Sherawat [ Exclusive Photo Collections ]

In the film, she had an item track 'Mehbooba' in addition to a few scenes as a woman who had much more than just a crush on Himesh Reshammiya.

Even though she was promoted as a vamp in the film, she hardly seemed to be the one as the film progressed.

Meanwhile, the latest release 'Welcome' is her biggest blockbuster of all times. Even as she made an appearance only in the second half of the film, her arrival only made the proceedings livelier.

Her naughty antics with Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor managed to get the house down with her 'Kiya Kiya' song and dance number with the two veterans turning out to be a chartbuster.

Says a source closely associated with the actor, "The year 2007 has gone quite well for Mallika even though she didn't have a lead role to play in any of the three films.

After 'Pyaar Ke Side Effects', her fans have obviously been asking for more. After a consistently good run, in the form of three super hit films, she is all set to enter 2008 with a lot more confidence."

Mallika Sherawat [ Exclusive Photo Gallery ]

The year 2008 is indeed special for Madame M as she would be seen in at least three high profile projects - 'Ugly And Pagli', 'Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam' and a Tamil film 'Dasavatharam'.

Reveals the source, "'Maan Gaye Mughal-E-Azam' is all set to remind the audience of the great chemistry that Mallika shared with Rahul Bose in 'Pyaar Ke Side Effects'. The film is a wonderful package.

Not only does it comes from the house of Venus who are looking at making a comeback after the debacle of 'Aap Ki Khatir'; it also has Sanjay Chhel as a director who wrote such superb one liners in 'Partner'.

Actors like Paresh Rawal and Kay Kay Menon in the cast only make this yet another more comedy to watch out for in 2008."

Another comedy which Mallika's fans can expect from her this year is 'Ugly And Pagli'.

A Pritish Nandy Communications' production, the film, as per its producer Rangita Pritish Nandy, is 'Bollywood's quirkiest, kinkiest and funniest romance'.

To be directed by debutant Sachin Khot, the film sees Mallika paired opposite Ranvir Shorey who had a supporting role to play in 'Pyaar Ke Side Effects'. A romantic comedy, the film has music by Anu Malik.

Before the year comes to a close, Mallika would be also seen in her biggest and costliest Indian project ever - 'Dasavatharam' (which stands for 'Ten Incarnations').

She is said to be playing a CIA agent in the film that has Kamal Hassan in the lead with as many as 10 characters to portray.

With three major films up her sleeves that would feature Mallika in different roles as a leading lady, 2008 could well be the year that acts as her calling card!

Bollywood Gossips - Riya's rumoured link-ups
Wednesday, January 9, 2008
Riya Sen
Bollywood actress Riya Sen is waiting for her name to be included in the record books not for her work but the way her name is being allegedly involved with Bollywood actors.

"It's not very surprising if in sometime my name will feature in record books for my alleged romantic relations with my co-actors. Everyday there is a rumour of a new affair. If I get into one love relation, people make it 10. I don't know how to convince people that I don't change boyfriends everyday."

Riya says that her alleged romantic involvement with Asmit Patel, Vivek Oberoi, Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Khanna, Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgan and couple of other actors have now become a thing of past.

"I don't say that I was never involved with anyone ever. But I haven't had an affair with all of them. Most of them were just rumours. In coming days I am looking forward to be rumoured to involve with more new names. So, nowadays I have stopped denying or countering these rumours. If people come and ask me that whether I am going around with an actor I confirm it rather than dismiss it. I know even if I deny people will write what they want to write so there is no point trying to convince," she said.

She further says: "I know one rumour will not last for more than a month or so. So why bother about them? Let people involve me with whosoever they want. It won't bother me now. On the contrary I will enjoy it. In fact nowadays I tell people openly that I am married and have kids also. I am giving them more fodder so that they can write whichever way they like."

Asked who are the actors she has been really involved with she says, "I don't see any reason to disclose my previous affairs. Neither I personally like to talk about my present affair. But when people write things without any facts I don't like to deny also, for the reasons I have just told you. So, if I am allegedly involved with all the actors, directors and people of film industry I don't mind. It will bring me to a record book for allegedly having affair with all the stars."

"Instead of Nandana, Jimmy didn't want to kiss" - Anand Rai
Wednesday, December 12, 2007
Debutant director Anand Rai whose thriller Strangers releases this Friday, has an interesting story to tell. "The script required a kissing scene. I nervously approached my leading lady Nandana Sen and spent some time convincing her. She eventually agreed. How was I to know the objection would come from the other party?"

The film's leading man Jimmy Shergill refused to smooch Nandana. "He was adamant. He said he wouldn't have done the film if he knew about the kiss. I had no option but to drop it." Anand is all praise for his cast. "Jimmy is among our most underrated actors. For the other leading man's role I needed a man of a few words. K .K Menon fitted the bill. As for the girl, I needed someone who would look convincing as a girl who has spent all her life in London. Nandana Sen was perfect."

Rai is quite bewildered by reports that Strangers is based in Alfred Hitcock's Strangers On A Train. "I really don't know where that came from. Yes, the film does have Strangers as its title and there's a train running through the plot. But beyond this, my film is as close to Hitchcock as Jimmy Shergill is to Jimmy Mistry. Mine is an original story," the debutant director brags.

Oh yeah? We shall see. Anand shot the film entirely in London. "And not as touristic city. I've gone into lanes and bylanes of London. And unlike other films shot abroad I've even shot the interiors in London." Yes, but Anand couldn't get Jimmy Sheirgil to kiss.

Ayesha Takia says NO to kiss and love scenes
Tuesday, October 23, 2007

Ayesha Takia has been dictating her own terms as far as her role is concerned. Actually when she was approached by film maker Anurag Kashyap for the film “No Smoking”, which also stars John Abraham, she was quite unconvinced with her role.

Now in the film, Ayesha has a double role. She plays John’s wife and secretary. Though she is quite ok with her role as the wife, but she made Kashyap rewrite the role of the secretary.

“The secretary is insane about her boss and desperate about having an affair with him”, quotes Ayesha, who has done away with the few kissing and love making scenes from the script. In fact, Ayesha convinced Kashyap to redraft her entire role to suit her interest.

This surely will come as a respite to John’s beau Bipasha. Now that’s what we call a “Starry Stance” Ayesha………

Aneek really loves Sumedha?
Wednesday, September 19, 2007
Love is in the air for Aneek Dhar, one of the final four contestants of Zee's 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007'. And he goes blue in the face denying it.

This young singer has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. It all started with Aneek's candid confession of love for Dia Mirza, when she made an appearance as a guest on the show. Dia herself was quite flabbergasted, but handled it well.

Then he went on record about a 'secret crush on a certain someone'. He calls her his mysterious 'woh'. And the producers leave us with no doubt over her identity, giving us numerous shots of a rather annoyed Sumedha, from Bappi Lahiri's gharana.

Added to that is his guru, Himesh Reshammiya's blessings. Aneek laughs, "It is true Himeshji is trying to make me a groom for Bappiji's gharana, but I have no such intention right now."

There is also the possibility of a third person involved. If rumours are to be believed, then Amanat Ali is the thorn in Aneek's side. Interestingly, Aneek claims that Amanat is his best friend on the show – "I love him very much, and he is my best friend." Aneek has also said that his vote goes to Amanat.

So then, is this young controversial singer in love? "It's a secret, and please, let it remain a secret. People will know the truth one day," he says.

We are waiting.
