Bollywood Gossip - UAE bans God Tussi Great Ho

Bollywood Gossip : Authorities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have ordered the Salman Khan-starrer Bollywood film God Tussi Great Ho off screens in this Gulf nation following complaints that it violated Islamic teachings.

The National Media Council ordered that the movie, released in India and here on Friday, not be screened in the UAE after receiving scores of complaints from viewers.

The movie also stars Priyanka Chopra and Amitabh Bachchan, and is considered a remake of the 2003 Hollywood production Bruce Almighty starring Jim Carrey.

In the film, Bachchan plays the role of god as he meets Salman's character Arun Prajapati who blames god for all his problems.

"Those who saw the movie told the authorities they were shocked to find that Bachchan played the role of 'god'," reports said.

Mumbai(PTI): Leading Bollywood stars are set to walk the ramp alongside Thai models on June 7 at the IIFA fashion extravanganza in Bangkok, where prominent Indian and Thai designers will present their latest fashion lines.

Sabbas Joseph, Director of Wizcraft, the company which organises the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) weekend, said the fashion event will be hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar and will showcase designs by Thai brands Alta Moda, Mufti and Indian designers Sabyasachi, Rohit Bal, Manish Malhotra and Vikram Phadnis.

He said the show will be choreographed by Luba Adams. Vidya Balan will add elegance to Sabyasachi's line while Kareena Kapoor will up the glam quotient for Manish Malhotra's designs.

The cast of forthcoming film "De Tali" ---Aftab Shivdasani, Riteish Deshmukh, Ayesha Takia will walk the ramp for Vikram Phadnis while the 'Love Story 2050" couple Priyanka Chopra and Harman Baweja will be the show stoppers for Rohit Bal.

Also, "Mission Istanbul" cast Zayed Khan,Vivek Oberoi, Shriya Saran, Shabbir Ahluwalia, Nikitin Dheer, Shweta Bharadwaj as well as the "Acid Factory" cast of Dia Mirza, Fardeen Khan, Dino Morea, Aftab Shivdasani will showcase the first look of their respective movies by walking the ramp, Sabbas said.

Proceeds of the extravaganza will go to the IIFA foundation, a charity set up by the academy to support families of the film industry workers who have been adversely affected during the production of a film.

"IIFA believes in continuing this humanitarian mission by raising funds and resources to light up lives with everlasting rays of hope," he added.

Bollywood Gossip - Sherlyn's 30 carat 'Dard'

After stunning the audience with an 'outrageous' performance, the spunky lass Sherlyn is now doing a Naomi Campbell in an itsy bitsy golden and diamond draped outfit for her latest video 'Dard'.

She'll be seen wearing a 30-carat, diamond encrusted outfit made out of real gold thread spun specially for the purpose, which costs a cool Rs 25 lakh. According to the choreographer of Sherlyn's video Remo D'souza - the outfit has been specially made by craftsmen from Rajasthan and Udaipur.

Sherlyn got her track specially remade to give it a high-voltage club remix feel. The music is re arranged and remixed by DJ Akbar Sami who spent considerable time and effort on the project.

'Dard' will be shot in exotic locations and will feature complex choreography, sets, lighting and sound effects. A group of technicians and laser light experts have been working on the computerized effects that will compare with the best in the world. Sherlyn said that she didn't want to divulge any details at this stage. "You can see me in action when the shooting begins". I will definitely invite all of you guys...

We hope Sherlyn extends this invitation to her fans as well.

Bollywood Gossip - I was never meant to get pregnant in 'Fashion' says Priyanka

Denying rumours that she forced Madhur Bhandarkar to change the climax in Fashion, Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, who has been shooting nights for the movie, says her character getting pregnant was not a part of the script.

Priyanka Chopra says 'That was never a part of the script. The ending was decided at the scripting stage. The girl was never meant to get pregnant.

'Why would I shy away from doing something unconventional? I started with Aitraaz, which was as unconventional as they come. I'm so amused by all the speculation about Fashion. It just shows how much interest the film is generating. In spite of the constant attention, we've shot a majority of the film. We're all working really hard on it.'

'I don't know where these stories come from. Apparently, I asked Madhur to change the climax of the plot so that my character doesn't get pregnant. Now where did that come from? Madhur is a very competent director. Do you think he'd allow any actor to tamper with the script?

'Yes, the two of us sat down on the script and threshed it out over six-seven months. Once that was done, we went by the script completely. I'd be the last person to ask for changes once I begin shooting.'

As for the film being inspired by the lives of real-life ramp-walkers, Priyanka clears the air.

'The film is a work of fiction. It's not meant to be the true story about the modelling world. Basically, it's the story of this one girl's biographical journey, just like Tabu in Madhur's Chandni Bar or Bipasha in Corporate.

'The fashion world is my character's backdrop. My character could very well have been a part of any other profession.'

Priyanka, who will be seen in Drona and Love Story 2050, admits that she has never been more nervous about any of her films.

'It's a very nerve-wracking character and I hope I'm able to live up to people's expectations.'

Priyanka has to cram in as much of the shooting as possible for Fashion before she rushes off in March to Miami for Karan Johar's 'Dostana' directed by Tarun Mansukhani.

'That would be a welcome sunny seaside change after shooting the intense scenes indoors on a set for Fashion. It's a young peppy frothy film. Totally different from Fashion.'

However, Bollywood Actress Priyanka not only graced the event but even pledged to donate her organs for the service of humanity. Apparently, the actress realized the importance of organ donation when her father was ill recently. Former cricketer and MP Navjot Singh Sidhu also pledged to donate his organs.

Must say here is one beauty who not only has a beautiful image on screen but has even touched many hearts off screen by this noble gesture

Is producer-director Aditya Chopra tying the knot with Bollywood star Rani Mukherjee The grapevine is abuzz with rumours ever since the former has filed a petition seeking divorce from his first wife at the Bandra Family Court in northwest Mumbai.

Aditya's father, movie moghul Yash Chopra, is not too happy with this alliance and therefore Aditya has moved out his family home and is now staying in a five-star hotel in suburban Mumbai.

In fact, Aditya's parents have already made it known publicly that they are against their son divorcing his wife whom they adore. Which, indirectly, means that if Aditya's marries Rani, he will have to do so against his parents' wishes.

It is speculated that Aditya's shift from his father's home is a prelude to his impending marriage with Bollywood star Rani, with whom he has been having an affair for a long time, according to sources.

A rumour has been also doing the rounds since Sunday that Aditya had, in fact, given the actress an engagement ring a day earlier when both met secretly at the hotel where he has been staying.

Though none close to the Chopras would confirm the rumour, but the fact that Aditya's petition seeking divorce from his first wife, Payal, was granted after the mandatory grace period of six months last week, lent teeth to the speculation.

"I am afraid, I will not be able to comment on the private life of my client. Moreover, I have no inkling of the exchange of engagement rings between Aditya and Rani Mukherjee. My client does not keep me informed about his private affairs," Gopal Pandey, long-time publicist of Yash Raj Films, told us.

As a matter of fact, in deference to the reputation of Yash Raj Films, especially the position filmmaker Yash Chopra holds in Bollywood, none came forward to comment one way or the other on the "impending" Aditya-Rani marriage, which, without confirmation, has remained a rumour.

Over the last few years, Rani has been seen in quite a few films made by Yash Raj Films, being handled by Aditya. She featured in 'Hum Tum', 'Veer-Zaara', 'Ta Ra Rum Pum' and 'Laaga Chunari Mein Daag'.

The Yash Raj scion, who was staying at a suburban five-star hotel for a long time due to differences with his parents is back in his parent's home but on one condition that they don't interfere in his personal life read Rani Mukerjee.

Bollywood bombshell and Outrageous bikini babe Sherlyn Chopra is going to set the Kannada and southern film industry on fire. Other established southern sirens had better watch out, for Sherlyn is determined to leave no stone unturned to give them a run for their money.

"When I do something I give it my hundred per cent. I will do what ever it takes to be the best and make an impression in Tollywood," says a fiery Sherlyn when asked how she would compete with the existing lot. Sherlyn is known for her uncanny ability to look sexy in anything she wears, whether it's a skirt or jeans or her trade mark G-strings.

According to reliable sources, Sherlyn Chopra will be seen gyrating to a steaming hot item number in the Kannada movie titled MADEHSHA starring Shivraj Kumar, son of Dr Raj Kumar. The lead heroine is not yet finalized, but sources said that Sherlyn was the most likely choice for the lead.

MADESHSHA is directed by Ravi Srivatsa and is produced by Govardhan Murthy. Sherlyn is expected to shoot the sizzling hot item number in Bangalore during the second or third week of March this year. The item song will be choreographed by Imran Sardhariya and is expected to be one of the most expensive productions ever made in the Kannada film industry.

Many other Bollywood actresses including Malaika Arora Khan and Sameera Reddy were approached for this item number, but Sherlyn Chopra won hands down for her Outrageous and wild, devil-may-dare image, curvaceous body and great dancing feet.

Sherlyn when contacted refused to deny or confirm the news. "My manager is talking to them, we are discussing certain issues, you can ask him if it's confirmed or not," was all that the sex bomb would say.

Insiders say that Sherlyn Chopra is being paid Rs 35 lakh for doing the item song. Apparently, the producer-director duo were so keen on having Sherlyn do the item number that they agreed to pay her the outrageous sum, even though other well-known girls in the industry were quoting only half of Sherlyn's price.

Her music video and album Outrageous was showcased to a standing ovation in Barcelona, Spain at the Global Mobile World Awards. Sherlyn Chopra is slated to be working on a couple of Hollywood projects as well.
