The Mohali team of Indian Premier League (IPL), owned by Bollywood actress Priety Zinta and her industrialist boyfriend Ness Wadia, was launched at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) stadium here Monday evening.

Icon player Yuvraj Singh walked on stage with compatriots, fast bowlers S. Sreesanth and Irfan Pathan, as the Kings XI was unveiled here.

Bollywood News - Himesh records his career's 75th song

Bollywood News : Composer-singer-actor Himesh Reshammiya, who debuted as a crooner with 'Aashiq Banaya Aapne' in 2005, has recorded 75 songs in just a record time.

"I've already released 50 songs. I intend to use the 25 songs I've in my music bank for the four films 'Karzzzz', 'Kajraare', 'A Love Iiisshtory' and 'Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh' that I'm starring in," he said.

In his forthcoming films he wants to introduce at least one new singer. Reshammiya feels he owes it to the industry.

"I think I must give new talent to the music industry because even I was a newcomer once. And fresh, untried talent always works since my music usually caters to younger audiences. They are always on the look out for fresh unconventional voices."

For 'Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh', which is a love triangle, Reshammiya intends to introduce new singing talent for the two leading ladies, Niharika Singh and Jennifer Kotwal.

"I came across some mind blowing female voices while I was judging 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa'. I'll be using these for 'Mudh Mudh Ke Na Dekh'."

Bollywood Gossip - Man arrested for sending lewd messages to Sushmita

A 39-year-old man was arrested from Delhi for allegedly threatening actress Sushmita Sen and sending lewd messages to her.

Acting on a complaint filed by Sushmita's assistant

Rebecca Pereira, Amber Gaba was arrested from Delhi's Tilak Nagar locality on Sunday, they said.

Gaba is alleged to have sent eight letters and many SMS's and made threatening calls to Sushmita, a senior police officer from the Khar police station said.

"He started sending SMSs and letters and called Sushmita in February. The actress ignored him initially and then decided to file a complaint when Gaba persisted," the officer said.

Police reached till Gaba through his phone registration details and with the help of the courier company, which had delivered the letters.

Investigators are yet to ascertain Gaba's motive for troubling Sushmita and also the source through whom he received the actress' mobile number. "Gaba can be a fan as well or may be he was doing it just for fun," the officer said.

Gaba has been booked under Sections 506 (ii) (criminal intimidation) and 509 (insulting modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code and was remanded to police custody till April 8 by a local court on Monday.

Bollywood News - Farah Khan gives birth to triplets

MUMBAI (Reuters) -

Choreographer-turned-filmmaker Farah Khan gave birth to triplets at a Mumbai hospital on Monday, a doctor attending on her said.

Khan, who directed the blockbuster hits "Main Hoon Na" (2004) and "Om Shanti Om" (2007) and choreographed song-and-dance sequences in over 70 films, is married to film editor Shirish Kunder.

"She has given birth to one boy and two girls this morning," Firuza Parikh, a doctor at Mumbai's Jaslok hospital, told Reuters.

"She is doing extremely well and the babies are also doing fine. They are very healthy."

Seems like Bollywood Actor Shahid Kapur / Kapoor pays tribute to his favourite actor Aamir Khan by playing a

teacher who helps a group of troubled young students in his new movie Paathshaala.

The similarities between Bollywood film Taare Zameen Par and this film are striking.

Choreographer-turned-producer and Shahid's close friend Ahmed Khan doesn't deny the fact that Taare Zameen Par has made a huge difference to the way we look at movie entertainment and at the parent-child relationship.

'I would happily admit that Paathshaala is inspired by Taare Zameen Par, except for the fact that 'Paathshala' was conceived and written a year ago. It's about a sensitive teacher's interaction with a group of kids,' said Ahmed.

'I've signed some really talented kids like Sweeney Khare from Bollywood movies Cheeni Kum, Ali Haji from Fanaa and Dwij Yadav from Nanhe Jaisalmer. We're really fortunate to suddenly have so many talented kids in our cinema. So why not put them to creative use? It's about time we addressed issues regarding children in a serious but entertaining way,' said Ahmed.

Interestingly, Ahmed has selected some of the most extraordinary child actors to come into the film industry in the last couple of years.

'And on top of that, let's not forget I was once a child actor myself,' laughed Ahmed who played a child in Mr India.

'Shahid too was a child actor. So we're all putting our minds into making a film about the mind of a child and the child within the man.'

Ahmed has directed two films, Lakeer and Fool N Final. However, Bollywood film Paathshala is being directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali's assistant Milind Ukey.

About Fool N Final, Ahmed said: 'Please don't blame me. Blame the producer. For the first time in Paathshaala, I'm doing a film straight from my heart.'

The set representing the school where 'teacher' Bollywood Actor Shahid does an Aamir has been erected in Film City.

'We even have a basketball court as part of the school set,' said Ahmed proudly.

Bollywood Gossips-Salman's too expensive

A buzz was doing the round that Salman Khan had charged

producer Vivek Galani a whooping sum of Rs 35 crore for Veer! Well, to give you a background, Veer is director Anil Sharma's (of Apne fame) next venture and will be written by none other than Sallu boy himself.

Now considering he is acting as well as writing, the sum isn't unthinkable. And the same bee that buzzed about Salman's amount buzzed noisily that Anil himself has charged Rs 7 crore. This would mean that the producers would be spending 42 crore on just Salman and Sharma!

But on asking, Sharma gets defensive, "Not at all. Our scripting has just been finished. Salman and I have worked day and night in getting it perfect. But it's way too early to discuss the final figures yet," he said. Yet, it's tough to believe that. Salman being Salman would not write an entire script without

having the figures known, if not cleared. We probed more. "See Salman has become very attached to the story and is personally involved in everything about the film. He would not possibly charge such a massive amount. He can't be so impractical," he retorted.

Anil gushed further saying, " The way he has visualised the story is brilliant. His seniority and experience shines through. I am very confident that the film will do well!" Well, we wish so too. Amen.

Health Minister asks SRK, AB to stop smoking

Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss has appealed to Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan to stop smoking in movies as millions of youngsters emulate them and imbibe the bad habit.

"I have already made appeals to Shah Rukh Khan," Ramadoss said in Karan Thapar's "Devil's Advocate" programme being aired on a news channel.

"But I would be happy to do it again and say, 'Please don't smoke in your movies, Mr. Shah Rukh Khan'. I would like to make an appeal to Mr. Shah Rukh Khan and Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and all the other personalities.

"Fourteen-year-olds are taking to tobacco. India should be very, very concerned about the alarming rise of incidence of tobacco (use) amongst young people," the minister emphasised.

Criticising movies with smoking scenes, the minister said: "The movies are most responsible (for encouraging smoking). When I said movies should not have smoking scenes, we have statistics which show that 52 percent of children have their first puff of a cigarette because of movie celebrities."

When asked about Shah Rukh smoking during a recent cricket match, Ramadoss said the actor should not have done it.

"Absolutely not. What was the necessity? See these are celebrities and millions of youngsters look up to these celebrities...I again say to celebrities, in whichever field they are, whether it's movies or sports, not to do these things in public."

Responding to a question if Shah Rukh and Amitabh could stop smoking like Tamil superstar Rajnikant, the minister said: "Easily, they could do it. Without a doubt."

Karan Johar wants to be a father after watching 'Taare…'

Film-maker Karan Johar was so touched by the story of a dyslexic child in Aamir Khan's directorial debut 'Taare Zamen Par' that he now wants to be a father.

Karan admitted 'Taare Zamen Par' was one of the most "emotive experiences" of his movie-going life.

Talking about his experience, Karan told us: "I couldn't move from my seat for 10 minutes after the show. I just sobbed like a baby. I was so moved by the story of the parents discovering the core of their child's spirit that I now want to be a parent.

"I'm neither married nor have I ever intended to be a father in real life. But after watching 'Taare Zamen Par' I truly want to a father, to connect with a child on a level that only a parent can understand."

An ardent friend and fan of Shah Rukh Khan, Karan is fulsome in his praise for the other Khan superstar.

"After seeing the film with a regular ticket-paying audience, I called up Aamir and told him that sincerity of vision was part of his DNA. He just can't help being the creator and the artiste that he is.

"It's hard to believe 'Taare Zamen Par' is his first film as a director. Look at the performance he has got out of the child actor Darsheel Safary."

Sighs Karan: "'Taare Zameen Par' is a landmark film. It is definitely one of the best films I've seen in recent times."

Rakhi dropped from Ekta's awards function

After the brouhaha Rakhi Sawant created about the alleged rigging of results on STAR Plus' dance show Nach Baliye 3 and her questioning the 'role' of Ekta Kapoor and Balaji Telefilms in the final result, Balaji has decided to drop Rakhi from their

first awards function on Jan 25 that is likely to be held at Dubai.

When asked, Ekta told IANS: 'I wouldn't really know the details of the show since they are being handled by Bunty Wallia and the Moranis. But yes, if my company has taken a policy decision, I am with them.'

'Rakhi was being offered a place in our first awards function. No, she wasn't going to dance but she was going to host one segment of the show. But after she has been making wild and totally unfounded allegations against Ekta, accusing her of favouring Aamir and Sanjida, Balaji has decided to drop Rakhi from their awards function,' said a Balaji source.

Ekta's awards function is likely to be held in Dubai. According to sources, Shah Rukh Khan has finally said yes to a performance at what promises to be one of the biggest live events.

Shah Rukh will be accompanied by none other than the Balaji breakaway bahu Smriti Irani.

'The idea is to set aside all rancour, to disprove stories about the ill-will generated by our actors who move out of Balaji. So it isn't just Smriti who's being invited to perform, we're also asking Iqbal Khan and Rajiv Khandelwal to join us on Jan 25,' said the source.

While the Moranis will be organising Shah Rukh's performance, the rest of the event will be handled by Bunty Walia's company.
