Bollywood Gossips : Kareena Kapoor had made a quick and discreet trip to Bangkok last month to meet Saif Ali Khan who was shooting there for Kunal Kohli’s upcoming film.

The couple left for Greece in the wee hours on Friday morning from Sahar International airport. However, the shooting begins only on Monday, January 7.

Saif and Kareena will holiday together for three days before they start shooting for Tashan there. A friend of Kareena tells us, “They will get three days together without being disturbed. Their romance is at a different level now, and contrary to expectations, it is growing stronger by the day. Kareena also calls him Saifu, lovingly.”

Source adds, “The couple worked out their schedule cleverly so that they could spend quality time together in Athens before the hectic schedule of Tashan begins.”

While Kareena’s Bangkok visit in December, where the couple spent almost two days together, was a quiet affair, this time the couple was open and cool about their exit together from the Sahar International airport.

Arm and the man

Saif Ali Khan is seeking inspiration from English footballer David Beckham’s famous Victoria tattoo. As a tribute to his three-month-old girlfriend Kareena Kapoor, the suave actor has now tattooed her name,
written in Devnagari, on his left forearm.

Saif, who has been working on the design of the tattoo for weeks, got inked on Thursday morning at Hakim’s Alim in Bandra. A reliable source close to the actor informs, “He has been toying with the idea of getting the Kareena tattoo for a while now. He has done some serious research on tattoo designs before zeroing down on this one. He just wanted a simple tattoo with not too many design elements.”

The tattoo artiste took almost two hours to complete the design and Saif was seen getting restless as he had to report to Yash Raj Studios for dance rehearsals. Later he was seen flaunting his newly-acquired tattoo but was not too keen to talk about it. A source from Yash Raj Studios, who did not want to be named, says, “Saif was very happy with his tattoo.

He was completely at ease with the attention it attracted.” However, Saif was seen making a conscious effort to hide the tattoo under a jacket when he reported at the Sahar international airport along with Kareena.

As Vidya Balan turned a year older on New Year's day she brought in her birthday the way she liked best… in the company of her family.

She was In Delhi visiting her sister. Her parents joined the sisters. And Vidya had herself what she considers a perfect birthday.

"I've great faith in myself. I'm happy to get what I do.Of course there're tough times. But God has brought me to them he'll take me through them. That's what keeps me going. Last year there were lessons to be learnt.

Professionally I've learnt to say no to projects I don't want to do. I'm no longer apologetic about voicing my opinion.I guess I've become more confident and therefore assertive. At times I didn't know how to say no to a filmmaker.

I'd wonder how they'd react to me rejecting their creativity. Now that painful process has become less difficult. If I say no to a project I don't see that as a rejection of an inividual's creativity. I just see the project as as being non-relatable with me."

In 2008 Vidya is looking at something different to do. "At the same time I want to have fun. My two releases in the first-half this year Halla Bol and Lucky Charm are very different from one another. For this year I've only signed a Bengali film so far.I like where I am."

She laughs her musical laughter when her Lucky Charm hero Shahid is mentioned. "I've been linked with practically every co-star I've worked with.

I get along famously with all of them. And I am single. So people are looking for masala to make my life and theirs, more interesting," she laughs heartily.

"Spice apart, I got along very well with Shahid during our schedule in Toronto. People just wanted to say there was more to our dosti than meet the eye. Honestly even I like to gossip. Most of us enjoy it.


Someone must have reported that we laughed a lot together on the set. It's like saying, 'If an actress gives a really good performance she must be having an affair with the director.'

Likewise if Shahid and I were having so much fun we must be a couple."

So what is Vidya's rapport with Shahid? "The way Aziz Uncle (director Aziz Mirza)'s team worked was very very friendly. Everyone in the unit went for dinner together.

All of us went for walks together. I guess the two of us were high-profile. So….But Shahid never shared confidences with me."


What about Vidya playing hostess to Shahid's screenings of Jab We Met?

Vidya groans loudly. "Oh God! I went to one screening of Jab We Met. Over there I met my Heyy Babyy writer Milap Jhaveri and had chai nashta with him.

The next day when reports of Shahid and me came out Milap wondered how this could be true when I wasn't anywhere near Shahid throughout the evening."

Shahid Kapur and Kareena Kapoor may not be an item any longer but next Valentine's Day (Feb 14) they're Milenge Milenge.

That's the title of their long-delayed romance directed by Satish Kaushik, which producer Boney Kapoor has decided to release on the day. Somewhat ironical considering Shahid and Kareena have gone their separate ways!

'So be it. Perhaps it was destined that the most romantic film featuring Shahid and Kareena would come only after their relationship is over,' Boney told IANS.

Thanks to the surprise success of Jab We Met, the long-dormant Shahid-Kareena starrer is being brought alive even as rumours surface that the lead pair is not interested in dubbing for the film.

'They haven't given me any indication that they've any problem with dubbing for the film,' says Boney,

Boney has even got the film pass the censor board. 'We've got the scratch-print censored. And all we need now is for Shahid and Kareena to dub.'

Director Satish Kaushik too is gung-ho about the release. 'Milenge Milenge is not at all dated. And why should Shahid and Kareena have any problems dubbing it?'

'In fact Shahid lives in my building. I've asked him about the dubbing and he's fine by it. And Kareena I've known since she came into the industry. I gave her first big hit Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai. Unlike that film, Milenge Milenge isn't a southern remake. I've entered a new phase of making films based on original scripts. My next release Tere Sang, about teen pregnancy, is also an original,' says Satish.

Satish was planning to release his film Tere Sang on Valentine's Day. 'But now that 'Milenge Milenge' is being planned for the same date I'll obviously hold back Tere Sang.'

The only person from the team who won't be part of the revived Milenge Milenge is Himesh Reshammiya.

Says Boney, 'Himesh has done the songs. Now we have got late Salil Chowdhary's son Sanjay to do the background score. The promos are also ready. It's a very young and fresh film. We're now looking at a Valentine's release Feb 14.'
