Superman strikes bollywood

Submitted by Bollywood Gossip on Sunday, 11 October 2009No Comment

Bollywood News : Boys will be boys no matter how famous they are. And they will always have that Superhero fixation even if they’re heroes themselves. If you don’t believe us, ask Imran Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Harman Baweja or even Ranbir Kapoor. While Ranbir sports all superheroes – from Flash to Batman – in Wake Up Sid (WUS), the others are loyal to Superman. Imran and Sohail were spotted in Superman tees on their recent visits to the Capital while Salman and Akshay were seen wearing Superman tees in Wanted and Kambhakkt Ishq respectively. For Imran, a superhero fan, a Superman tee is “cool”. Designer Priyanjali Lahiri, the brain behind Ranbir’s look in WUS, says, “Boys, no matter how old they are, will be boys. Superman’s the current fad, last year it was cartoon characters and graphics. Everybody loves him he’s Mr Nice and he looks good.”

Whatever the reason, Superman tees are hitting the streets now and how. From Palika Bazaar to Sarojini Nagar, the ‘S’ tee is selling like hot cakes. Online label Myntra has seen a growing demand for these shirts in the past few months. Says Bilal Hasan, regional manager, Delhi, “We get tons of queries for these shirts off late – from men and women. Superman is being highlighted in movies and Bollywood, and everyone wants him now.”
