Sridevi Set to Follow in Madhuri’s Steps
Producer Boney kapoor has confirmed that actress wife Sridevi, in semi-retirement all this while, will make a comeback to films next year. It seems that even though Madhuri Dixit’s Aaja nachle did not set fire to the box office, it has definitely charged Sridevi.
The actress who gave up the archlights to be at home with Boney and their children in 1997, is now at a place in life where she is comfortable with the idea of returning to films. Sridevi began working at the age of six. When she got married she was at the stage when she had no more interest left in acting. But now that her daughters have grown up, she is open to the idea of acting in a film a year. Boney has confirmed the news, saying that he would be foolish not to utilize the talent of one of Hindi cinema’s most talented actresses, when she is right there in his house. There has been talk even before of Sridevi’s imminent return but now post the Madhuri comeback, it is absolutely definite that Sridevi will be staging her comeback. Boney confirmed that they are looking at a couple of scripts very seriously. The film for Sridevi should be happening next year, he says.
